Writing the Stories of Your Life

In 2008, write the stories of your life and enjoy the rich and inspiring company of others in this unique year-long email/correspondence course beginning on 31 March.

This storyworks course takes you on a journey through the ordinary and extraordinary moments of your life, to create a collection of significant stories for yourself, your family, and loved ones. It’s magical!

You and your family will know who you are, and future generations will read their ancestors’ stories and feel connected.

"These are my stories. I have lived them. All this time they have been hidden inside me, never seeing the light of day until this course.” - from a Storyworks correspondence student

How does it work?

Over the year you will receive 12 lessons by email or post, with prompts and guidance to allow your stories to unfold.

Each lesson also involves a conference call with one or two others, pluse Bridget Brandon. You will have the opportunity to listen to others, to have your stories heard and receive feedback.

Storyworks participants from Perth to Townsville, from Dublin to Toronto have found it easy to feel connected to a delightful and appreciative community.

Year-long Correspondence Course cost and enrolment: $990 for the year in advance, or $510 per semester. Written feedback on each lesson is an extra $250 per semester

"Every human being at core has a unique story and to discover one’s greatest meaning is to grow one’s story.” - Jung

"'Writing' my life is also like 'righting' my life - setting it out before me, so I can look at and understand the reason for decisions I have made throughout the years." - 2005 Participant

"The formulae of exercises especially in order of decades and themes have given me the opportunity to complete my life story in a constructive way." - 2006 Participant

"I liked the freedom of only having to 'report in' once every 3 weeks. My schedule is busy and unpredictable. Because of the flexibility of working on my own, I was able to fit the course around other commitments." - 2005 Participant

"I enjoyed the other people on the conference calls. I found that listening to others' stories created a warm bond between me and them. It was delightful that the class had an international flavor - it was such a powerful reminder of the universality of human experiences and concerns."
