Week-long Writing Retreat in Central Australia 2009
You in the Desert

Location: Finke River, outside Alice Springs

Dates: There will be two retreats offered in 2009.
Sunday 7 June - Friday 12 June
Thursday 27 August - Tuesday 1 September

Cradled by the vast landscape of Central Australia, spend a week writing, walking and swagging it on the banks ofthe Finke River.

In this ancient land beneath the wide blue sky and touched by the play of light and desert colour, you'll naturally connect more deeply with yourself and your story -- where you've come from, who you are now and your core values and purpose. You don't need to be a writer; as well as writing prompts you'll be given a variety of creative approaches to enter your story.

Thanks for being such an amazing facilitator. I found it really interesting to do this workshop with someone who does not primarily see herself as a writer. You put your own ego aside to provoke us into telling our own stories in our diverse and unique voices. Your emphasis on story and on careful and respectful listening helped to create a warm, supportive and challenging environment for writing. It helped to create a sense of a new writing community amongst us and in this we were all able to produce interesting work. - Participant 2008

"… the vision on waking was the gentle morning light on the yellow reeds in the Larapinta water hole, the light turning the hills from subdued mauve to brilliant red…" - Participant 2006

Writing at Finke RiverPeriods of walking and writing provide the rhythm and discipline to extend your connection to the inner and outer landscape.
